The Archuleta 澳门太阳神娱乐澳门太阳神娱乐官网 Sheriff’s office accepts applications for entry level and lateral patrol & detentions deputy positions as well as emergency operations and civilian positions. Our employment process begins by completing an employment application which must be submitted for an applicant to be considered. A resume may be submitted with, but not in lieu of the application form.  False or misleading statements during the interview and or on the application form are grounds for terminating the application process, or termination if discovered after employment. 

After review of an application a applicant may be invited to oral board interview. Depending on the position the applicant may be invited to complete a written assessment test, psychological assessment, pre-employment drug, physical agility test, background investigation and interview with the Sheriff.   

When advised, reasonable accommodations will be made in order for an "otherwise qualified applicant" with a disability to participate in the testing process (American’s with Disabilities Act of 1991) Applicants who require reasonable accommodations to test should contact the Human Resources Administrator by the close of the application process. One of the fundamental requirements of working in law enforcement is the ability of an individual to adhere to and demonstrate the highest legal and ethical standards.  The Archuleta 澳门太阳神娱乐澳门太阳神娱乐官网 Sheriff’s Office has an unwavering stand on untruthfulness and dishonesty that can result in the dismissal of an employee who engages in such misconduct.

The same standard applies to the hiring process.  Unfortunately, it is our experience that a number of applicants in each hiring process will fail due to such misconduct. 

If you are untruthful, dishonest, knowingly omit, falsify, conceal or obscure required information, or engage in any similar misconduct or deception during any part of the application and hiring process, you may be permanently disqualified from being employed by the Archuleta 澳门太阳神娱乐澳门太阳神娱乐官网 Sheriff’s Office.  Information regarding a candidate’s disqualification may also be made available to other law enforcement agencies with an authorized request.

 Lateral Patrol Deputy applicants may be eligible for a $5,000.00 sign on bonus.  Non POST certified Patrol Deputy applicants  may be eligible for a $8,000.00 POST Academy tuition stipend.
